The Lodge:
A twenty-year vision of care.
At The Löwchen Lodge, our facilities are the physical expression of two decades spent devoted to the "Little Lion." We believe that a breeding environment should be a sanctuary—a place where architectural excellence meets the warmth of a family home. Our estate is purpose-built to exceed modern standards, prioritising biosecurity, mental enrichment, and the specific well-being of the Löwchen breed.
Initial design considered legal requirements for canine husbandry regarding various codes, while deep development considered breed specific needs, our local geography, enrichment and best practice as per the size and scale of our program.
The story of The Lowchen Lodge
The Lowchen Lodge originated as a dreamt up wish list of what we would have if money wasn't an issue, and quickly turned into a to-do list.
With ample space, carving out suitable room was easy. Under the shade of the westerly, weathered pine trees, our courtyards were established with as much natural shade as possible. From there, everything grew. It was essential for us that we have functional facilities which provide the space and flexibility to preserve our beloved breed.
In 2026, it became clear that the preservation of Lowchen in Australia is something that we need to be actively involved in and thus, expansion of the Lodge is under way so that we may house more stud dogs and retain, import, exhibit and breed Lowchen for the preservation and improvement of the breed. Currently we are renovating The Courtyards and The Atelier, while also considering the addition of hydrotherapy facilities for our Lowchen.
The Promenade

The heart of our facility is The Promenade, a grand, light-filled thoroughfare that ensures calm, orderly transitions. Its spacious design allows for gentle, supervised social interactions as our Lowchen move through the Lodge.
The Atelier
Artisanal styling for the noble lion
In our professional grooming studio, The Atelier, we focus on artisanal styling and wellness. With over 20 years of expertise in the iconic lion clip, we use low-stress techniques to keep our dogs looking noble and feeling pampered.
The Suites
Private sanctuaries for peaceful dreams
Our Suites are private, climate-controlled quarters designed for serenity. Featuring premium bedding and acoustic management to reduce noise stress, these rooms offer a peaceful retreat where our dogs can rest in total security.
The Courtyards
Boutique gardens for sunshine and socialising
For intimate socialisation, our manicured Courtyards provide secure outdoor spaces for small groups of two or three. These areas feature high-quality, hygienic surfaces with anti-dig and anti-climb fences, that allow for fresh air and "zoomies" in a safe, boutique setting.
The Glades
Expansive runs for natural discovery
Our expansive Glades are large-scale natural parklands designed for high-energy exploration. Here, our dogs engage with a variety of textures and scents, promoting the environmental confidence and physical vitality that define a well-raised Löwchen. The Glades are designed to accomodate sensory exploration, climbing, jumping and digging with natural landscaping and flora.
The Nursery
The most sacred part of the Lodge, The Nursery, is a secluded maternity wing physically isolated for maximum biosecurity. Informed by 20 years of whelping experience, this quiet sanctuary provides the warm, monitored nesting environment every new mother and her litter deserve.
